"What does pursuing further education mean to you?"
Pursuing further education is a constant process and goal. Education is not limited to what I learn in a classroom or a textbook. My supervisor at my accounting internship gave me this quote: "I know you're looking forward to graduating and being done with school, but education is never finished because I learn something new every day." This came from a man who had been in the same company and field for over fifty years. After thinking about this, I realized there was a lot of truth in his statement. Everywhere we go, we should be prepared to learn something new. I have enjoyed each opportunity to pursue higher education that I have been blessed to have from grade school to graduate school, which I'm starting in August. Knowing that very few people in the world have the opportunities I have makes me appreciate education so much more. The average daily wage in the world is roughly $2, and people in third-world countries would love to have access to clean drinking water. As I pursue higher education, I can see more and more how much God has truly blessed my life. Even within my own family, my grandparents, brother, and parents have not attended any level of college. I know that as I pursue more education, I am representing myself, as well as my family and faith, which motivates me to put all of my efforts and energy into my studies.
