"What does pursuing further education mean to you?"

There have always been three constants in my life: my unwavering faith, the incredible support of my family and my love of education. Since I was young, I have always embraced the challenge of learning. No matter my health situation, school has always been a priority. Despite my constant hard work and compliance in trying to manage my CF, I have still struggled with my health since I was sixteen. Regardless of bouncing in and out of the hospital during high school, I was able to earn a partial academic scholarship to my local college! Although my battle with CF became more difficult as I entered my college years, I was able to graduate community college with a 3.97 GPA! Excelling in school was always a priority for me, not an option. I applied the same steadfast attitude in excelling at school towards tending to my CF. An early love for learning and succeeding provided me with the skills I needed to become as diligent with my health as I am today.

I am currently attending Rowan University as a public relations major. I hope to one day do PR for the Make-A-Wish Foundation or for Children's Hospital of Philadelphia, as CHOP has saved my life time and time again. Pursuing my education will not only help me attain my dream, but it will aid me in spreading my incredible story of CF to the world.
